Acute promyelocytic leukemia, peripheral blood

This peripheral blood smear shows the presence of atypical promyelocytes which have prominent nuclear folds and abundant azurophilic granules in their cytoplasm. One of the cells contains numerous Auer rods, a typical finding in acute promyelocytic leukemia.
