Cardiac muscle cells are more numerous in the heart and have a stippled appearance due to their organized myofibrils. Purkinje fibers have a disorganized arrangement of myofibrils and have a larger nucleus. There are several cardiac muscle cells present on the edge of the photomicrograph.
