Histoplasmosis, calcified granuloma Histoplasmosis is a common infection in the Missouri, Ohio, and Mississippi River valleys. It often forms a calcified granuloma in the hilum, and also in the lung, similar to the Ghon complex of Mycobacterium tuberculosis , with which it is often confused. Compare the microscopic appearance of the granuloma with the previous chest x ray.
