Ascaris is perhaps the most common infection worldwide. The worm lives happily within the host, causing little damage. All it asks is a little sustenance. Occasionally, it reaches a large worm-load, and will obstruct the bowel, as in this case. The expulsion of the worms was achieved with an anti-helminthic drug.
