Brucella, CT scan, osteomyelitis

This CT scan of the cervical region shows a mass posterior and anterior to the spinal column (circled). Upon biopsy and culture, this area proved to be osteomyelitis due to Brucella meletensis. The patient later gave a history of having consumed unpasteurized goat cheese from a farm in Syria.
