Noninflammatory edema - increased hydrostatic pressure

Under the conditions summarized in this chart, oncotic pressure is normal but hydrostatic pressure is increased, to the extent that excessive amounts of fluid are forced out of the circulation. An example of a clinical problem that is the result of this pathogenetic mechanism is pulmonary edema secondary to left-sided heart failure.
