This chart illustrates the possible outcomes of inflammation. It should be regarded in terms of a time scale that increases as you move to the right. The important concepts to glean from this slide are (i) that inflammation is a dynamic continuum of changes, and (ii) the longer the process continues the more alteration of parenchymal tissue there is, e.g., scarring.
