Crohn disease of the ileum

The slide shows the segmental nature of the disease. The part of the intestine that is involved by Crohn disease shows narrowing of the lumen and thickening of the entire wall. The mucosa is ulcerated and has a cobblestone appearance due to numerous linear ulcers surrounding small patches of the preserved mucosa.
