Small cell carcinoma

This is a gross example of small cell carcinoma of the lung. Like squamous cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma is usually centrally located and is closely associated with smoking. On this slide, the bronchial tree has been opened, and tumor is noted within the opened bronchus as well as the surrounding lung parenchyma.
