Lobar pneumonia

There is consolidation of a large portion of a lobe of lung and thus this bacterial pneumonia is classified as lobar pneumonia. Lobar pneumonia is most frequently caused by pneumococci and is consolidation of a large portion of a lobe or an entire lobe.
