Panlobular emphysema

This example of panlobular emphysema shows enlarged airspaces, accompanied by destructive changes, involving the entire lobule. Usually, anthracotic pigmentation is not as prominent as in centrilobular emphysema, and the changes tend to be most severe in the lower lung zones.
