Primary tuberculosis

Primary tuberculosis is typified by the Ghon complex, which consists of a peripheral parenchymal granuloma (as shown in this slide), and enlarged caseous lymph nodes draining the parenchymal focus. This healed subpleural Ghon nodule is well circumscribed, and has areas of fibrosis and calcification.
