Ruptured myocardial infarct. The infarcted wall of the left ventricle and the septum appears mottled, and is partially yellow and partially red. A slit corresponding to the site of rupture is seen in the paraseptal part of the posterior wall extending from the lumen of the ventricle to the epicardium.
