Mural thrombus overlying a healed infarct of the left ventricle. On cross section one may see that the thrombus is firmly attached to the endocardial surface of the ventricle. The gray tissue corresponds to fibrosed granulation tissue that has ingrown into the thrombus from the endocardial surface and has partially organized it.
